Cancer’s not fair. But accessing treatment should be.
Currently patients in Ontario and Atlantic Canada face two-tiered and out-of-date cancer systems that are riddled with administrative hurdles, out-of-pocket costs to the patient and significant delays for at-home cancer treatments.
Canada’s Western provinces treat take-home cancer drugs and hospital-administered cancer drugs equally, irrespective of the patient’s cancer type, age, or income. Patients receive their treatment when they need it and without personal cost.
The CanCertainty Coalition is the united voice of more than 30 Canadian patient groups, cancer health charities and caregiver organizations working with oncologists and cancer care professionals to improve the affordability and accessibility of cancer treatment.
Ontario and the Atlantic provinces are letting patients down. It’s time to level up and put patients first.
